Pudding and Prosecco Party - Friday 3rd March. This was a lovely, social evening. Thank you so for all the wonderful puddings. It was great to see the school hall full of people.
Some years ago it was decided that we would change from being a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and become the Friends of Horton School. This was to encourage the wider community to become more involved in our work, raising funds for the benefit of the school children. The school is so lucky to have the help and support of many individuals from the surrounding area, from those who regularly come in to hear the children read, the Mothers Union ladies who organise fun events for the children to the villagers who regularly join school for lunch etc. We would like to encourage anyone who has a few spare hours to join us in our fund raising efforts and to enjoy the vibrant, family atmosphere of our lovely, village school. We welcome and value new faces and ideas; anything to support our fantastic school.

Chocolate bingo 2015
A typical family "haul" of chocolate from Chocolate Bingo night.
Fantastic evening at school last night. Chocolate bingo was as big a hit as ever. Many thanks to the 40+ children ( pupils, past pupils and their friends), parents, teachers and friends who came to join in. Special thanks to Mrs Atkinson ( pizza chef), Mrs Edwards ( for coming up to Horton on her day off) and Mr Pattinson for bingo calling. It was amazing how quickly everything was tidied away, with everybody helping. Many thanks to all the FOHS helpers for organising all the fun, and to all those who donated chocolate and raffle prizes.
Am amazing £252.10 profit. Thank you everyone.

This doesn't include lots of little sundries that we manage to provide each year; particularly at the special seasons of the year.
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has worked so hard to raise £4,097.45 this year. It makes such a difference to the children and offers them much more than other small schools can provide.
Below is a list of the main things which the Friends of the School has provided in the year 2014/15. This doesn't include the little treats, such as lollies for Sports day and presents, such as Dictionaries for our Year 6 leavers.
2014/15 was another fantastic year with approx £5523 raised. This is much appreciated by the children and staff and ensures our children have regular, educational trips and other things which so enrich their education and school life.
